“Attention class! We have a new student today! Her name is Kang Yumi! Please look after her!” Our teacher introduced her. “Anneyoseyo! Kang Yumi imnida. Please take care of me!” She brightly and cheerfully said. Oh great another popular girl. She’ll probably be popular in no time. I rolled my eyes and looked out the window. “Yumi-sshi, you may sit…hmm…next to Yunri-sshi!” The teacher pointed to the seat next to me. Aish! Just my lucky day! I was not ecstatic of the new seating arrangement. Whatever I’ll deal with it. The girl skipped happily to the seat next to mine. I looked up to see much curious stares around not only her but me. I bet they’re wondering if I’m a new student or not. Just another plus for the day. The new girl turns to look at me and smile. “Hi! I’m…wait I already introduced myself. It’s your turn!” She cheerfully said. “Uh…Jang Yunri imnida. Pangap Sumnida,” I softly and timidly said. She smiled and turned her attention to the teacher. The rest of class was surprisingly quiet. After introduction, I thought she was going to non-stop chit chat into my ear.

After class was over, it was time for lunch! Yay! I love lunch. I get to eat tons of food and satisfy my taste buds. I happily pack up my stuff in my bag to head out for lunch. “Excuse me, Yunri-sshi. Can I have lunch with you?” She politely asked. I couldn’t say no…after all she did politely ask. I quietly nodded and walked to lunch with her chatting happily beside me. “Wow this school is amazing!” She comments. I would quietly nod whenever she commented something. What was I suppose to say? Plus I’m not very good with socializing with people. We reach the cafeteria and I sit right in the front left-hand corner of the huge cafeteria. Ha you thought I was going to sit in the back, right? Ha I wish, that’s where all the popular kingkas and the queenkas sit. They silently watch over the status quo from back there. I sit down in my usual seat and Yumi sat across from me. “So you’re a very shy and quiet girl aren’t you?” Yumi asked randomly. I nodded as I blush. Great, she barely knows me and yet she can tell I’m a loner. “It’s okay! I’ll be your friend. My friend at my old school was like this too. She was very very shy!” She giggled. I just smiled and nod. So that’s why she hasn’t ditched me yet.

            Oh well, she’s nice so I don’t care. Maybe I can make my first friend. “We should make you some more friends though, it’s fun hanging out and talking with more people,” She smiled and got up before I could say anything. Jeez that girl works fast. A group of girls walk up to my table and just stared at me. “Hey are you the new girl?” One of the girls asked. “No…” I said quietly and shook my head. I didn’t want to explain cause they didn’t seem like very nice girls. I just pointed to the seat across from me and hoped they got the message. “You must be mute,” One of the girls snickered before walking away. Yumi then came back with a girl. “Yunri-ah, look I made a new friend. You should talk to her too.” Yumi sat the other girl down. I just stared at the girl. That was the girl that talked to me in the beginning of the year but stopped talking to me afterwards. “Anneyong Yunri!” She smiled. I just nodded and slightly bowed my head. “Yunri-ah, you remember Hye Bi right?” Yumi dug into her lunch box and ate. “Ye…” I replied awkwardly. “Oh I told you! She doesn’t like me…” Hye Bi told Yumi. “Bwoh? Anniyo…it’s just you stopped talking to me…and I thought you didn’t like talking to me anymore…” I awkwardly explained. I kept my head down and ate the remaining rice and mushrooms. “Anniyo! I thought you didn’t like me so I stopped talking to you,” Hye Bi said surprised. “No…I liked you. It’s just I’m not good with…talking to people,” I blushed embarrassed. She just giggled. “Okay then us three we can be best friends! Us, two will teach you how to be comfortable with people!” Yumi declared. I smiled and nodded, shoving my last spoonful of rice in my mouth. Yay I made two new friends. Maybe this is a start of a beautiful life. I won’t get bored anymore!

            The palace section.

            “Hey I heard there’s a new girl in school,” Yoochun bites into his apple. “Oh jinja? Dugu?” Jaejoong asked although he seemed uninterested in whoever she is. “Mola, I just know she’s new,” Yoochun replied. “I want to meet her, maybe she’s hot!” Junsu chuckled. “Yah, the whole Jaejoong persona doesn’t suit you Junsu-ah,” Yunho shook his head. “Aish, whatever,” Junsu rolled his eyes and shoved the sandwich in his mouth.  “Look around the lunchroom and maybe we can see who the new girl is,” Changmin stood up from his chair and scanned the crowd. Girls from different tables squealed and screamed at the sight of him looking around. “Ahh, he looked at me!” “Oh my gosh, he’s so freaking cute!” “AHHHH marry me!”

            “Why is all the girls screaming and squealing?” Yumi asked. I just shrugged. Who knows? They’re always squealing but I could never figure out why… I’m not stupid, am I? Hye Bi stands up and squeals too. “Hyebi-ah, why are you squealing?” Yumi asked. “Omg! Changmin Sunbae just stood up!” She jumped up and clapped. Yumi and I just stared at her giving her weird and confused looks. “Who is that?” I asked. Yumi just shrugged and Hye Bi totally ignored us as she spazzed.

            “Okay it’s easy, usually the new girl doesn’t know what’s going on…” Changmin stated to the listening boys. “Okay spotted! It has to be either one of those girls at that table!” Changmin pointed to Eun Mi. All the boys stood up to look and the screams got louder. “AHHHH I LOVE YOU ALL!!” The girls screamed. They all stared at where Changmin was pointed. The girls stopped cheering and looked at where Changmin was pointing and it was to a table with 3 girls. They all sent glares and threatening looks to them. “Omo! You guys! Omo Changmin is pointing to me!” Hye Bi squealed and fainted. “Oh shit!” Yumi rushed to Hye Bi. “Oh…ottokae?” I stuttered. I looked around but I only found nasty scowls and threatening glares. I left Yumi with Hye Bi and ran around the kitchen area to find a paper cup. This is the best they can do? I starred at the cup for a second before I ran around looking for a fountain. I scratched my head and twirled around looking for a fountain but another girl has already poured water onto Hye Bi’s face. She woke up and coughed. I hit myself in the head before rushing to my friend. “I’m sorry! I couldn’t find a fountain. Kenchana?” I pat Hye Bi on the back.

            “Found her!” Changmin exclaimed. He points to a short and confused girl running around with a paper cup. “Eh…nevermind. She’s the opposite of attractive!” Jaejoong insulted her and went back to eating his lunch. “Hmm, I don’t know hyung. She might not be your definition of attractive, but she does have some attractiveness.” Junsu said rubbing his chin like he’s thinking. The boys cocked their head to the side to watch her more.

            “Omo, you almost gave me a heart attack Hye Bi!” Yumi exclaimed. “I almost had a panic attack!” I panted. “Sorry but it was like I was in heaven!” Hye Bi dreamily said. I sighed and shook my head at her. I looked around and all the angry looking girls disappeared back to their lunch tables. Good, I wonder why they were so mad. Was it because that guy was pointing at Hye Bi? I shrugged off the thought and head back to my original seat to finish off my lunch.

            “Yeah, she’s kinda cute in a dorky way. She has a good appetite. Unlike those girls that eat as little as they can down there,” Changmin announced. “Eh whatever…” Jaejoong finished his lunch. “Jaejoong Oppa!” Sun Mi cooed. “What?” He answered. “Oppa, want to go clubbing with us tonight?” She winked at him. If Jaejoong goes, the rest of the guys usually go. “No, I have things to do tonight,” He rejected her and she stares at him with a pout. “Oh…araso…” She walked away pouting. “Why are you still talking to her?” Junsu whispered from across. “Just because she’s the queenka of the school, it doesn’t mean she has the right to hang out with us.” Yoochun stated. Jaejoong just nods in agreement. “That’s why I rejected her,” He makes a disgusted face and got up. “Araso chingus, it’s time for class!” He announced. The five boys get up, leaving their dirty dishes behind. They usually leave the lunch room 5 minutes early or else they won’t be able to get to class with all the girls surrounding them.

            5 minutes afterwards, the rest of the lunch room leaves. All the fan girls rush to catch up with the kingkas and the fan boys leave to catch up with the queenkas. That only left a few people that weren’t insane like the rest of the school. Eun Mi dusted her skirt off. I fixed my glasses and my uniform along with Yumi before heading off to class. As we exit out of the cafeteria we throw our trash away and head to class. I didn’t have the same class as Yumi and Eun Mi and since I was one of the last people to leave I had to hurry to class. I jogged slowly to class, that’s all I’m capable of doing anyway. Did I mention I’m not athletic, well yeah I’m not. I may look like a bookworm and act like a nerd, but I still have hobbies that aren’t nerdy. I like singing and acting in musicals and plays. Although I don’t like showing it, I’m good at it.
